Our only Noble laureate- Prof Wole Soyinka has said recently in
Enugu that
“Darfur is not far from Nigeria’’
as seen from the present political Leadership in Nigeria.
.
Prof Soyinka advised Nigerians to be distrustful of these politicians championing the so-called third term agenda, just like they did in time past to the late dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha
He dared the nation’s leaders to travel “the length and breadth of the country in a Molue bus” to see for themselves the extent to which their activities have impoverished the nation.
“The best kind of change is the one that comes from the heart. But as we can see, some people are unchangeable, and if such people refuse to accept that they are in government to serve, then the people should mobilise and throw them out,” he opined.

Please spot the difference between General Obasanjo and Charles Taylor.
May 04, 2006 at 07:24 PM | Permalink | Comments (0)
Recently , President Obasanjo was reported to have threatened to walk out the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Victor Attah, from the Presidential Council on Coastal States in the Niger Delta conference held in Abuja.
Power obsessed President , was in his usual element, openly and violently tongue lashing Governor Attah over his opinion on how to develop the (Niger Delta).
To drive home the point that he is still the headmaster,Obasanjo intermittently interrupted the governor’s speech to throw punches at his presentation.
An attempt by the poor governor to explain himself further brought out the venom from an uncultured Statesman, without any observance to protocol and respect to the Governor's office, in these um printable words:
"Please governor, please governor, with all due respect, what I am asking you is not what you want Niger Delta Development Commission to do. What are you going to do? I came up here. I told you what we (Federal Government) are going to do, when and how and by what time. If you haven’t done that, go home and do that or I will walk you out of this meeting".
Haba Baba Iyabo, even in village meetings, Oba/Obi/Emir/Obong shows more respect to his subjects than this attitude of yours.
Can you please recall other incident[s] that Obasanjo forgot his manners at home?
